We are living in a world where time pass us by without us noticing it. We rush in the morning to get the kids to school and to get to work on time. We rush at work and then go home tired, just to rush again to cook and get the kids to bed. Weekends are a social rush to get friends and personal stuff done.
I went to the bookshop recently to find some research material and one of the things that i found rather amazing was that there are now five minute bible stories available for children. “Great” ; I thought “this is cool”, and then suddenly it hit me. We are so busy with stuff that we hardly have time left for God. We recon that 5 minutes a day is enough.
Yet when we are in need we expect God to respond immediately, and o brother do we get upset if He does not let things work out for us. I have read a very sad story, A missionary went to India, he sat down at the Gangesriver. Here he saw how mothers were feeding there children as offers to the crocodile who they saw as gods. A young mother arrived at the river with two children. One was skipping and singing along, and in her arms was a baby. The baby however had a deformity. Watching this he thought that the mother will feed the baby to the croc’s, the very next minute she grab her perfect little child and threw it ti the crocodile. He jumped up in horror confronting the woman. ” why did you do that, there was nothing wrong with your child”? The mother picked up the baby and looked at him, she replied” we only give our gods the very best we have, what do you give your? ”
God does not want us to sacrifice our children. All He wants from us is to allow the Holy Spirit to live in our hearts and to live our life to honor Him. To think before we speak and do things. Just looking at creation and acknowledging Gods hand in it means that you are spending time with God. We must treat God like our Soul mate, and share everything with Him.
